P3 click-click

I noticed that if I'm on 6m, with the PR6 selected (press RX ANT) and Preamp
on (press PRE), then the P3 makes a click-click noise about every 9 seconds.
When it does so, I get a horizontal red line across the waterfall display.

 

Any thoughts?

This may be the COR (carrier-operated relay) cutting in because of the strong signal level.  I have experienced the same thing on 40M.
