P3 - clicking and display jump

Hi

New P3 sn 2xx   while listening 20 meters, hear 'clicking' from P3 and display jumps up/down
from about -120 to -117 and back.   intermittent - but more prevalent when there is a sig
preamp on or off freq 14005 -14031 sigs S5 -9

any ideas?

John,

The P3 automatically turns off its internal preamp (using a relay)
whenever a strong signal overloads the front end.  You might try turning
off the preamp in the K3 or even turning on the attenuator.  That's a
good idea anyway when the band is wide open, to keep the K3 nice and
linear.
