On 19 January I attempted to upgrade my P3 from firmware 1.20 to
1.24.This didn’t go well, and caused the P3 boot loader to fail on a
checksum error.I asked members of the list for their thoughts and
received many suggestions. Unfortunately, none of them worked.
I took it to private email with the Elecraft support team.We determined
it was most likely a fault in the front panel board.Today I received a
replacement and installed it.The problem is fixed, and I will be
returning the faulty board to Elecraft so they can determine what
happened to it.
Thanks to all who answered my initial request. Also thanks to Elecraft's
engineers for their help.This was the first problem I had with either
the K3 or the P3. The resolution is a great example of how these
discussion forums and Elecraft support can quickly track down and
resolve most problems. I'm happy to report that everything is back to
normal and that the P3 is performing like new.
