P3 for dummies?

w0mu
Has anyone written or thought about writing such a guide?

The P3 can do lots of things.  The manual is pretty brief and doesn't
really discuss why you would want to use this feature or that feature etc.

speaking of the P3 manual, a few comments

Referencing to the ftp site ftp://ftp.elecraft.com/P3/
It might be good to change the 2344 KB P3 Owner's man Rev A1.pdf
uploaded 7/29/2010 to the newest one found here:

(1.5 MB) P3 Panadapter Owner's Manual Rev A7  (November 20, 2010)
http://www.elecraft.com/manual/P3%20Owner%27s%20man%20Rev%20A7.pdf

and perhaps even include the:
(64 KB) P3 Owner's Manual Errata (Rev A7-1, 01/24/2011)
http://www.elecraft.com/manual/P3%20Owners%20Manual%20Errata%20A7-1.pdf

and the:
(17 KB) P3 Programmer's Reference (Rev A2, 11/24/2010)
http://www.elecraft.com/manual/P3_Pgmrs_Ref_Rev_A2.pdf

====
also I have a copy of How to Set Up and Interpret the P3 Display (Oct 11, 2010)
saved to my computer, but I have no clue where I got it, or where anyone else
could get it? There may even be an updated version as there have been some new
features included since Oct. 11, 2011.
====

the "Web Page Changes" page:
http://www.elecraft.com/web_additions.htm
doesn't seem to be able to keep up with the site's changes?

I would  have sent the info to the webmaster address found on the contacts page:
http://www.elecraft.com/how_to_contact_elecraft.htm
Web Page comments and corrections [hidden email]

but I have done that many times before
and either I am being considered spam
or there is a black hole at that address,
but it has never produced any results before,
but posts to this list do,
so I figured I'd take the opportunity
to piggy back this thread with the above comments

please don't shoot the messenger,
just trying to be informative,
not meant as being mean or critical.

P.S. yes I DO understand the webmaster is wearing many hats,
and priority are priorities .... that said :-/

I'm not the web site guru, so take this with a grain of salt:

I think the standard place to access the P3 Owner's manual is via the
"Manuals and Downloads" link on the main page which gets you to
http://www.elecraft.com/K2_Manual_Download_Page.htm#p3
The P3 Owner's Manual, Errata, and Programmer's Reference URLs you cite
below can all be accessed from there.

I believe that is just a section in the current Owner's Manual.  BTW I
believe a new Owner's Manual that includes the Errata will be released
soon.  However I am already working on some new features that will make
it obsolete.  :=)
