P3 how to question

Ai4PF
Just got new P3 up and running, and I want to download the K3 425 and P3
00.50, but  I'm not sure how to accomplish this with the 232 connection
already occupied. How do I get the PC in the loop?

Re: P3 how to question

Dick Dievendorff
You plug the PC into the upper 9-pin D-shell connector on the back of the
P3.  The P3 takes over the K3's serial port and relays data to the K3.

In my P3 Owner's manual, page 13, the discussion of the P3's back panel,
discusses the connection.

You should download the P3 Utility, available at
ftp://ftp.elecraft.com/P3/, guest access.

The P3 owner manual shows how the RS232 cabling should be laid out.
