P3 magenta 'pointer' in display?

Stan Gibbs, KR7C
I just upgraded to the 1.0 P3 firmware.  I notice a magenta triangle "pointer" on the left margin of the display.  Can someone explain what it's function is?  Or, is it only me that is seeing it?

Your VFO B is off the screen in the indicated direction (down freq)

I upgraded today also, Stan - LOVE IT!

The magenta pointer tells you which side of the display screen the VFO B
cursor is on.  Makes it easier to move it onto the display screen.  Very
nicely implemented, in my opinion.

Thanks to Mike and many others (off list) for the answer, and to Alan for the implementation.  Very neat!  The magenta color should have tipped me off! :-)

Latest Firmware Download for K3 fails

Dale Parfitt-3

Perhaps someone can enlighten me.
I am using the latest K3 utility to download the latest K3 upgrades.
MCU and FPF appear to go smoothly, but the DSP1 version has failed 4 times
giving me the following error in the download window:
DSP1 verification failed. Reload DSP1
DSP1 firmware load failed
Error code XE2000016, verficiation number verification failed

The K3 display reads:
E000202
Err DSE

No previous problems with upgrades.
P3 upgrade to 1.00 appears to have gone well.

Tnx,
Dale W4OP

P3 ver 1.00

Dale Parfitt-3
In reply to this post by Craig Smith

I solved my download issue by going to an ethernet connection vs wireless. I
am guessing the wireless signal was perhaps more error prone.

Anyway, I like the upgrade but was disappointed that there is no vertical
cursor in fixed mode- at least that I have been able to find so far.
Perhaps my use is a bit odd- but in dealing with weak EME and 500KHz
signals, it is useful to be able to move the cursor over to a narrow trace
on the waterfall and know you are there.
Having to depend on the somewhat wide filter inverted "U" graphic just
doesn't cut it.

Dale W4OP

About DVR

One question for the group for the ones who has the DVR installed.
If you record a station off the air can you play him back on the air so that way he can hear how he sounds on your radio or its just like any other DVR on the JA radios that is only good to playback your prerecorded CQ ?

Re: About DVR

Fabio Mantovani
Hi Hector,
you can play back him on the air with no problems.
But if I remember correctly, the received/recorded audio passes thru
your TX equalizer, so the "remote" station hears how he sounds with your
own tx equalizing applied on it.

Ciao,
Fabio

Dale - The MKR A and MKR B vertical markers lines can be used in this
manner. When active, they display the actual frequency they are tuned to.

Re: P3 ver 1.00

Vic K2VCO
But you have to SEE the little U in order to position the marker! What Dale and I and
others have asked for is that in Fixed Mode there is a full-height vertical cursor that
moves with the VFO cursor.
