The topic of monitoring one's own transmit signal on the P3 has been raised several times on this list. My understanding is that to allow TX monitoring, the RS232 link between the K3 and P3 must be disabled to suppress blanking the K3's IF output to the P3 during transmit.
I have found that my transmit spectrum occasionally appears briefly (for < 1 sec) on the P3 in the beginning of a transmission. I've noticed this when operating VOX, but not with PTT. Could it be that there is a random delay between TX enable and blanking the IF output? Is this normal behavior for the P3? Has anyone else observed this effect?
