Paddle Keyer and PTT

Howdy K3' people:
So as not to accidently blow out a Pre-Amp at the Mast, I want my Vibroplex Key to "Not" key the rig. Rather, I'd like to use a Heil Foot-Switch that I have. What's the setting to make the Keyer not key up the rig? Where's the connector where I plug in the foot-switch ? Plug your foot switch into the PPT IN jack on the back panel of the K3.
