Paddle for PTT in SSB?

Using an external keyer set in hand key mode, is there a way to connect
the keyer to the K3 to use it as a PTT switch in SSB while allowing the
keyer to still work in CW?

Not that I am aware of.  The K2 was able to do that because the DOT and
PTT inputs were shared.
While that provided an advantage to do as you are asking, it provided
handicaps for other uses of PTT - the result is that the K3 keying and
PTT inputs are separate.
