Point to Point control of K3 (OT?)

David Christ
I would like to run my K3 at my other location where I have room for
good antennas.  However I have no Internet access there.  That is the
bad news.  The good news is that it is only about 4 miles as the crow
flies and line of sight except for a few trees.  I thought it might
work to set up a link on 220 or some other frequency but am unsure of
exactly how to do this.  I would think that one should be able to do
both voice and control on such a link,  maybe even voice and Ethernet.

Can anyone suggest someplace to find information on this sort of thing?

David,

Consider setting up your own private wireless point to point network
using Part 15 Ethernet devices working in the 2.4 GHz band.  There are 3
channels within the 2.4 GHz amateur band, and that allows you to legally
use amplifiers if necessary to establish the link.
That does work best if you have a line-of-sight path.  See
http://www.qsl.net/kb9mwr/projects/wireless/plan.html for additional
information.

I have not tried it, I am just passing along information that I have run
across.
