Hi all,
The 3Y0I expedition is now finally under way. I started my search for information here: https://dx-world.net/3y0i-bouvet-island/ I looked at the official web site, the Facebook page and the tracking page. Alas, I can not find much information. No equipment list, no operator list, no band plans, etc. etc. Am I missing something or are these folks extremely secretive? AB2TC - Knut PS. I am guessing if they have any Elecraft equipment we would have heard about it here. -- Sent from: http://elecraft.365791.n2.nabble.com/ ______________________________________________________________ Elecraft mailing list Home: http://mailman.qth.net/mailman/listinfo/elecraft Help: http://mailman.qth.net/mmfaq.htm Post: mailto:[hidden email] This list hosted by: http://www.qsl.net Please help support this email list: http://www.qsl.net/donate.html |

The official webpage at <https://bouvetoya.org/the-3yoi-dxpedition-has-begun/> says, "the Team will NOT monitor DX clusters nor personal email boxes during the DXpedition." So I think a lot of informations will not be displayed, only at <https://bouvetoya.org/welcome-roaring-forties/> 73/72 de Ingo, DK3RED - Don't forget: the fun is the power! www.qrp4fun.de - [hidden email] ______________________________________________________________ Elecraft mailing list Home: http://mailman.qth.net/mailman/listinfo/elecraft Help: http://mailman.qth.net/mmfaq.htm Post: mailto:[hidden email] This list hosted by: http://www.qsl.net Please help support this email list: http://www.qsl.net/donate.html |
Is this saying that we will have to "work" DX to get contacts where as
using spotters, DX lists, and DX Clusters is more like shooting birds in a cage. Oh my! This means one will need large antennas, multiple receivers, legal limit power and all the computer technology one can muster. Plus a wee bit of patience and a lot of luck. On the other hand, I figure with my wire antenna and 100 watts, shouldn't be much of an issue. I'll let you know. 73 Bob, K4TAX ______________________________________________________________ Elecraft mailing list Home: http://mailman.qth.net/mailman/listinfo/elecraft Help: http://mailman.qth.net/mmfaq.htm Post: mailto:[hidden email] This list hosted by: http://www.qsl.net Please help support this email list: http://www.qsl.net/donate.html |
None of this stops people from spotting them. I think they are a bit
annoyed at some comments made previously. Not to worry let us cheer them on. 73 Doug EI2CN -----Original Message----- From: [hidden email] [mailto:[hidden email]] On Behalf Of Bob McGraw K4TAX Sent: 23 March 2019 19:45 To: [hidden email] Subject: Re: [Elecraft] Possible OT: Bouvet Island again Is this saying that we will have to "work" DX to get contacts where as using spotters, DX lists, and DX Clusters is more like shooting birds in a cage. Dom has at least one K3 and KPA500 in his possession at home from a prior Dxpedition (TI9). But we do not know what they are using on this one. They may be using personally owned radios as I did not see any radio manufacturers listed on their earlier (now deleted) web page.

I had upgraded to an 86XX S/N and sold him my 47XX S/N. 73, Bill W4ZV -- Sent from: http://elecraft.365791.n2.nabble.com/ ______________________________________________________________ Elecraft mailing list Home: http://mailman.qth.net/mailman/listinfo/elecraft Help: http://mailman.qth.net/mmfaq.htm Post: mailto:[hidden email] This list hosted by: http://www.qsl.net Please help support this email list: http://www.qsl.net/donate.html |
