Power Pole connectors

Phillip Buckholdt
Hi All

I am finishing a XV-50 transverter. Down to making the power cord. How is
it supposed to plug on to the XV-50??

have 2 red and 2 black connectors and 4 crimp pins. I had no problem
mounting the PCB connectors. H ow are they supposed to plug together since
these are the sane size? I looked on Anderson's web site but, did'nt find
any good info there.

RE: Power Pole connectors

Don Wilhelm-3
Phil,

Anderson Power pole connectors are 'genderless' - meaning that if you
assemble them all the same, they will fit together with no polarity
problems.

To assemble the red and black housings, I look for the little 'A' stamped on
the end (this is often called the tongue) - with the 'A' upright, the black
one should be on the left.  Note on the sides of the housings there are
dovetails - slide the two housings together with the dovetails engaged.

You will find other 'sayings' that folks use - something like 'tongues down,
hoods up, the black one is on the right' Either way works, so use whatever
appeals to you, I just prefer to look at the end and make the 'A's upright,
and I know in that orientation the black one goes on the left.

RE: Power Pole connectors

Ron D'Eau Claire-2
To follow up on Don's description, if you mount them as shown in the manual,
you'll have the same orientation as needed for other transverters, the
KPA100, etc. That's why the very detailed description in figures 26, 27, 28
and 29 on pages 36 and 37 of the manual XV50, XV144, and XV222 Assembly
Manual were included for the connectors on the Transverter itself, and then
see figure 44 on page 52 of the manual for the proper orientation of the
cable connectors to mate with it.
