PowerSDR-IF/IQ

Dick Dickinson
I'm now getting to more in depth use of the LP-Pan, LP Bridge and
PowerSDR-IF and soon PowerSDR-IQ with my K3.  Thanks to Larry, Scott and the
gang at Aptos.

I'm considering a second monitor dedicated to PowerSDR-IF/IQ...consumer
grade or thereabouts.  It will be used via my main computer with an extended
desktop.  It seems the PowerSDR window is about 1024 pixels x 615 pixels.
An about 12" diagonal display with a trim sourround would be great.  A stand
may not be necessary.  Less is more in this case.  What ideas are there
about a VGA monitor that might fit the criteria?

It's interesting to see the developments along the lines of SDR.

Best regards,
Dick - KA5KKT

Re: PowerSDR-IF/IQ

Standard 15" LCD monitors with a resolution of 1024 x 768 are available
on eBay for next to nothing ( less than $50 shipped).  Your next best
choice would be a modern 15.6" monitor with a resolution of 1366  x
768.  My local Walmart carries a decent one for only $98.  Consumer
tastes are leaning toward 19" monitors and these are now the predominant
configuration.  Typically with a 1440 x 900 resolution although some are
higher at 1680 x 1050. The 19" is so common now that good mail order
dealers sell them for $99 + shipping. (newegg.com for example).

I use a 19" 1680 x 1050 Acer monitor for my station computer and find it
quite satisfactory.

Thanks for the reply.  I suspect some of the mobile screens (automobile)
might offer something smaller, but I haven't found a lot of information on
them.  Most of them are attached to something.  I did see one at an amateur
radio store.  There was no indication of resolution and the drive was via
RCA plug.  It was smaller than 12" by a bit.  I'll check Wal*Mart for the
15.6" model.

The elecraft panadapter will need to provide some value ....hopefully
from integration with the data decoder.. or other useful ( for me) stuff.
