Where can I get the new driver from Prolific? The link on the Ele Software downloader site to Prolific seems to be unavailable to me. Anyone tried this lately?

Deni,
I tried also...I think the link is broken ? I wanted to look around because I am running a Vista machine.Never had any problems with Vista...just wanted to get ready for the delivery of the K3 ! ! ! Also does anybody have a K3 with a pc running Vista ? What drivers do you need for the RS232-USB ? Anthony - N3ANT Wynnewood,PA. K3# on order

If you have a Vista machine, I'd recommend you get the Device Driver from
Microsoft Update. That's what I did, and I test with Vista and a KUSB with this driver every release of the K3 Utility (I'm doing daily builds). I understand that there's a major internet outage in the Far East that may be the cause of the outage. Give it a little while... I have a K3 and a PC running Vista. If you have a "real" RS-232 serial port, you need do nothing. If you're going to use a KUSB USB-to-Serial Adapter, plug it in, and get the device driver from Microsoft Update. Just follow the prompts. I'll copy the paragraph I have in the "Blue Screen" section of Help into the "USB Troubleshooting" section of help. It suggests getting Vista device drivers from Microsoft Update. 73 de Dick, K6KR -----Original Message----- From: [hidden email] [mailto:[hidden email]] On Behalf Of N3ANT Sent: Friday, February 01, 2008 6:43 PM To: [hidden email] Subject: Re: [Elecraft] Prolific drivers? One of the major backbones between Europe and Asia was damaged in three places during the past couple days, which has virtually wiped out international connections for some countries in middle and far east, and caused major problems for others. Yesterday I heard in the news that Egypt is begging for users to stop downloading music and films, so that the government connectivity remains usable. vy 73 de toby _______________________________________________ Elecraft mailing list Post to: [hidden email] You must be a subscriber to post to the list.
