QSK - Why don't you like it?

I've always wondered why some don't like QSK.  Today, I may have had an
epiphany.
 
I wonder if the dislike is really just a mix issue?  Maybe those who
dislike QSK just have their sidetone too low and it gets lost in the
band noise?
 
In both my TenTec rigs and my Elecraft rigs, side tone is controlled by
a separate control, apart from the AF gain.  I set the sidetone, then
adjust the AF gain to mix in as much or little of the band as I want.  I
can have it be 80% sidetone with a hint of the band turn the AF gain up
to match or exceed the volume of the sidetone.  Sometimes, I turn the AF
gain down to make the band just a bit of background noise.
