Question: Over-voltage protection (OVP) for K2, K1

Alan D. Wilcox, W3DVX
Hello,
As many of you know, I've been pretty active building and repairing
Elecrafts ...

... And recently I had a K2 come in after having a collision with a
runaway power supply. Extensive damage. Most modern supplies have a
protection circuit that drops a short across the supply if the voltage
goes over a set limit, but this was not the case here. A simple external
crowbar probably would have saved this K2 from disaster.

So I built a simple OVP that can be inserted inline with the K2's power.
See http://wilcoxengineering.com/OVP/ for some pictures of the project.

Question: Is a product like this something that folks might find useful
if I were to make the parts (or a mini-kit) available?

Let me know!
Many thanks,
Alan

I'm using a linear tech LT4356CDE as shown in their application note
for Demo Circuit (DC) 1018A, to do the same thing, it ends up being
pretty compact. Some people may have issues getting the sense
resistors however.
