Question about my K1 Problem Please?

Eric Champine
Hey all. First off let me start by saying "ITS ALIVE :-)"!
Serial # 2908 with all add-ins on 15M, 20M, 30M and 40M.
Everything seems to work very good but when I hold the button for XIT the
LED doesn't come on. XIT does work but no LED.
RIT and ATTN LED's work and when I start the K1 up the LED in question turns
green then red just after power-on so I am thinking it is my solder job.
Ugg.
Does anyone know how to fix this? If not I can live with it because the XIT
control does work but it would be nice to have the LED. Thanks all.

P.S. Now I must ponder if I get the K2 or the K3 next :-) Christmas is going
to be good this year !

Re: Question about my K1 Problem Please?

Eric Champine
Hey there.
I have found out why that LED did not go on. It was not broke, I thought I
already assigned the (PFn) button to "nor" so XIT would work but for some
reason it wasn't. I assigned it to "nor" and everything is good now. Sorry
to bother you. What a awesome unit. It does so much and in my opinion way
better than all of my other QRP rigs. I still like them but they aren't
going to get much use now.
Thanks for putting out such a fine little rig.
Now my biggest problem is what should I get next? K2 or K3?
I may just get both. I think the K3 would be my rig for my house. Thhhhhe K2
I may get for portable but if I did the K1 may not get much use then. I like
the K1 for CW portable  but SSB is very good too so the K2 may be more
practicle. I have to think about it. I wish the K2 had at least a 2M
internal adapter for it like the K3 has. I would sell my 817ND in a heart
beat to get the K2 then.
You have not added it all these years so I don't think it is going to happen
now but its nice to let you all know people would like that feature. Thanks
for yooour time.
