Question on K3 and LP-PAN

w0ih
In looking at the LP-PAN and the connections, and what I've seen on the Flex radios, if you connect up an LP-PAN to the K3, the receive signals that you hear through the computer sound card output would NOT be going through the K3 roofing filters.

The LP-PAN would of course give you the spectrum display, but not the signal processing from the K3.
Any signals that come through the computer would be internally (to the computer) generated.

Therefore, if you wanted to use the K3 system filters, you need to go through the K3 audio output.

Is this true?

Yes.  Mostly. ;)

The pre-amp and attenuator happens, I think, BEFORE the IF that goes into the LP-PAN (or P3.)
