Questions on filters

My K3 was built at the factory so I'm not totally familiar with some of it.  I have two questions about the filters.  I have an FM filter that can be used to receive AM.  Can it be used to transmit AM?  I'm thinking no.  I also have the general coverage filter.  Does it take up one of the five filter slots in the radio?  Thanks.   Bryce  K7UA
