Quick KAT3 question...

Ross Primrose N4RP
With the KAT3, is the AUTO/BYPASS selection specific to ANT1/ANT2, or
does it apply the same setting to both ANT1 & ANT2?

Shane DeSeranno
>From the manual:
"If you do have a KAT3 installed, you can connect antennas to both ANT1 and
ANT2; tap ANT to select. Holding ATU selects AUTO (autotune enabled) or
BYPASS mode. In AUTO mode (ATU icon on), the antenna can be matched for best
SWR by tapping ATU TUNE . Up to 30 ATU settings are saved for both antennas
on every band."

That said, if I remember correctly, it's per antenna.  So if I set to BYPASS
on ANT1, then switch to ANT2 and use the ATU, then switch back to ANT1, it's
still in BYPASS. (I'd have to test to be 100% sure...)

I just confirmed this by setting ATU AUTO on ANT1 and noting that ANT2 was
still set to BYPASS.

Thanks to all who responded, that's how I need it to work.  That's not
specified in the manual.

Now, if only VOX was mode specific ;-)
