With the KAT3, is the AUTO/BYPASS selection specific to ANT1/ANT2, or
does it apply the same setting to both ANT1 & ANT2? 73, Ross N4RP -- FCC Section 97.313(a) “At all times, an amateur station must use the minimum transmitter power necessary to carry out the desired communications.” ______________________________________________________________ Elecraft mailing list Home: http://mailman.qth.net/mailman/listinfo/elecraft Help: http://mailman.qth.net/mmfaq.htm Post: mailto:[hidden email] This list hosted by: http://www.qsl.net Please help support this email list: http://www.qsl.net/donate.html |
>From the manual:
"If you do have a KAT3 installed, you can connect antennas to both ANT1 and ANT2; tap ANT to select. Holding ATU selects AUTO (autotune enabled) or BYPASS mode. In AUTO mode (ATU icon on), the antenna can be matched for best SWR by tapping ATU TUNE . Up to 30 ATU settings are saved for both antennas on every band." That said, if I remember correctly, it's per antenna. So if I set to BYPASS on ANT1, then switch to ANT2 and use the ATU, then switch back to ANT1, it's still in BYPASS. (I'd have to test to be 100% sure...) -----Original Message----- From: Ross Primrose N4RP Sent: Monday, November 14, 2011 12:33 PM To: [hidden email] Subject: [Elecraft] Quick KAT3 question... I just confirmed this by setting ATU AUTO on ANT1 and noting that ANT2 was
still set to BYPASS. /Rick On Mon, Nov 14, 2011 at 12:39 PM, Shane DeSeranno <[hidden email] > wrote: > > That said, if I remember correctly, it's per antenna. Thanks to all who responded, that's how I need it to work. That's not
specified in the manual. Now, if only VOX was mode specific ;-) 73, Ross N4RP On 11/14/2011 3:43 PM, Rick Tavan N6XI wrote: > I just confirmed this by setting ATU AUTO on ANT1 and noting that ANT2 > was still set to BYPASS. > > /Rick > > On Mon, Nov 14, 2011 at 12:39 PM, Shane DeSeranno > <[hidden email] <mailto:[hidden email]>> wrote: > > > That said, if I remember correctly, it's per antenna.
