I am having problems with my K2 kit: S/N 030xx (bought used unassembled).
I am in alignment Test II portion of assembly, and I am having the following problems:
Both my analog and DMM are reading a reistance of from about 15 (on analog meter) to about 50 ohms (on DMM). After reading some of the posts about this problem, I decidied to try and complete alignment Test II anyway. Everything seemed to work until I got to the I.F. aligment, at which point, I cannot hear the birdie at 7000 Khz (or anywhere on the band). I tried hooking up a check wire antenna to try and hear noise, but I couldn't hear that either. I have double checked all the components that were installed, but I had no luck there.
I don't know if the two problems (low R115 resistance and the lack of a birdie) are even related problems, but I thought the information might help. Does anyone have any advice on what might be wrong, or at least what area of components might be causing this?
