R32 on the KPA100 rf board

Steven Pituch
Hi all,
The book says R32 is 100 Ohms both in the description, the parts list,
and the schematic.  But the description and the parts list say it is
brown-black-black which is 10 Ohms.  I only have a 10 Ohm resistor.

What is correct?

Thanks,
Steve, W2MY

Steve,

If that resistor has a blue body and has a total of 5 bands rather than the
more usual 4, it is a 1% resistor and the color code is brn, blk, blk, blk -
the 5th band will also be brown indicating the 1% tolerance (tolerance band
is gold on 5% resistors and silver on 10%), and it is proper for R32.

There is a 10 ohm 5% resistor in the kit too, and it should go into the R23
holes.

Dyslexics should beware <G>.  The resistor numbers and value similarity
didn't occur to me before, but it does remind me of a spot in West Virginia
that I pass by a couple times a year - highways 19, 61 and 16 intersect!!!
could be confusing to strangers not knowing their way!!!
