RE: Elecraft Digest, Vol 19, Issue 18

Rick Tilton

Hello all,

In my strange thought processes I thought I would ask the group a
question.  Has "ANYONE" attempted to put one of the Elecraft XV
Transverters in an EC2 case?  I have asked Elecraft and have discovered
that they have no plans for using an EC2 for a XV.  They also indicate
that they do not have any front or rear panels with XV holes and
silkscreening for the XV's, only the KAT100.

The EC2 does have the same footprint as the XV so the board probably
would fit but the XV board might need some modification. Then if you
were to put more than one XV in the EC2 there would be shielding issues
I'm told. I am told that they were designed to be stacked which is why
they are half size.  However, being picky I'd like to have a full size
one.

So I have been referred to here.  You ask "WHY" do I want to do this.
Well I'd like to put everything in a full size EC2 to attempt to create
a long console of sorts of Elecraft products.  I have thought of
stacking two XV's and then stacking another one with a half size tuner
for the KAT100 but that don't quit reach what I am trying to do "IF" it
can be done.  Suggestions???
