Perhaps its time, to build your own homebrew
transceiver rig? Tube type? Oven-heated crinkle-black paint, Millen meters? 5U4's? Honestly tho - for a price, perhaps you could talk one of us first-production K3 Kit owners, out of their rig. Reminds me of the 1978 U.S. gas crisis times, when I was able to buy a brand new Honda Civic CVC 25 mpg model - I had people offering to buy it from me, in parking lots. :) de Fred, 73's N3CSY ____________________________________________________________________________________ Be a better Heartthrob. If you have to have one right now, it's easy! Just download the image of the
K3 and print it out on your printer to it's actual size. Then tape it to the front of your current rig or to a cardboard box. That's what I did while I was building my K2...well sort of. I have a picture of the K2 on the wall of my office. You could also use it as wallpaper on your computer. That might take the edge off while you are waiting. I haven't ordered one yet because, I just built the K2 and I'm having fun playing with it. I'll wait till Elecraft has them in stock and everyone else has had a chance to road test them. I hope this helps! Gary, N7HTS On Fri, 22 Jun 2007 04:35:21 -0700 (PDT) "Fred (FL)" <[hidden email]> wrote: > Perhaps its time, to build your own homebrew > transceiver rig? Tube type? Black crackle paint is nice but a dust collector. I prefer bare aluminum. Millen never made meters. Think Triplett, Weston, etc. I prefer 866As to 5U4s. http://hometown.aol.com/n2ey/myhomepage/ > Reminds me of the 1978 U.S. gas crisis times, > when I was able to buy a brand new Honda > Civic CVC 25 mpg model - I had people offering > to buy it from me, in parking lots. :) > My 1980 VW Rabbit Diesel got over 40 mpg in the city and over 50 mpg on the highway. Well, that would be governed by the rules and regulations of the IICA(International Inflatable Companion Association). Units that comply with the regulations would be shipped in complaince with all local ordnances. Inflated units could pose a problem, since there is no official VAT code for imported recrational air.
