That does sound rather strange, did it fit the K2 (I you have one)?
There is a lot of depth in the K3s fitting, my connectors go 'home' before I have to do the collar up, that is, the collar on my line sockets will slide back up from the mating part. Screwing them on and making a good connection isn't a problem. Wonder if its your particular connector?
