Hi Mark,
Yes, you have a valid point and I have only used cables as described in the KPA-100 manual.The set up worked flawlessly during four years and, mystery, all of sudden, communication breakdown! I am currently measuring all voltages in the RS-232 interface part of the amp and suspect hardware failure (defect U4 MAX 1406??)as some voltages are out of range.
