Version 3.63 in my K3. I notice that when using AFSK RTTY...looking at the ALC....I get three bars now and no more. I can drive the poop out of it, but no more than three bars. I turned down the AFSK drive so the three bars just flicker. I get good reports from other stations. The output power on the watt meter is at the point where any less audio drive the power goes down and the three bars do not appear any longer. Is this an issue with this version? Before, I could get actually control the number of bars on the ALC meter. Is this new? Lee - K0WA In our day and age it seems that Common Sense is in short supply. You didn't actually say how you're adjusting drive ... have you
experimented with the line-in gain, using the MIC control, as well as adjusting the audio source? ~Iain / N6ML On Tue, Dec 29, 2009 at 8:41 PM, Lee Buller <[hidden email]> wrote: > > > Version 3.63 in my K3. I am adjusting the gain via the mic control....keeping the SignalLink USB constant. I can also set the mic control to like 40...and vary the input on the SignalLink USB. Same thing. The latest firmware for the K3 is 3.68 released on Dec 11. It's always a good idea to update to the latest version if you experience a problem, as it may already have been fixed. I'm not aware of any recent issue affecting audio drive levels in DATA A, but I can tell you that I can drive my K3 to 4 bars of ALC and beyond using the latest firmware.
