RX~TX Pops above 11w with KPA installed.

David Walker-9
Hi all,

I've just noticed a pop between RX and TX with the KPA installed and the
power above 11w.  Set below 11w all is fine.  There is something on the
AC6RM website about this but I can't access it.

Could someone clue me on how to resolve this?

Cheers,

Dave

Dave,

I suspect you also have the KDSP2 installed.

Try increasing the setting of T-R delay.  Also EDIT the T-R parameter
and push DISPLAY to toggle between 8R NOR and 8R HOLD - use the one that
reduces the pop better.

The situation is apparently caused by the delay through the KDSP2 which
modifies the mute timing and causes a pop on unmute.  There is some (yet
undefined to me) influence from the KPA100 T/R switching.  If you have
an older KPA100 (before Nov 2006) adding the KPA100UPKT to your KPA100
may help.  Why this appears on some K2 and not others is an additional
mystery I have not yet figured out.
