RX freq issue with ESSB 3k using KFL3A-6K

vk4tux
Playing with a Goldline MM-5 on 40m  using the TX ESSB = On at 3k,

(I need a mic pre-amp to get this working best with no compression, have
ordered a
*

  NEW * BEHRINGER MIC100 VACUUM TUBE PRE-AMPLIFIER )

*I noticed that the station I was receiving seemed to shift up 1.5k in
frequency.

At first it seemed to be the station I was originally testing with, had
shifted, but
the same happened with others.

Restarting the K3 or resetting the width > hold for "nor", seemed to
bring rx back
on on tx freq.

I was using 3k width with the /KFL3A-6K / with no shift offset.

Anyone else experienced this, thanks?

PS Update on my P3;

It looks like the plane ditched and floated to Australia, but P3 should
be here soon;

Goldline MM5 and Behringer

What is  a Goldline MM-5?  Google doesn't find it.

The ONLY good reason for an outboard preamp with a K3 is to use a
PROFESSIONAL mic that requires balanced phantom power, and there's no
good reason to use such a mic with a K3.  Further, Behringer has a
TERRIBLE reputation in the pro audio world. They are well known for
shoddy manufacturing quality, lousy service, and for stealing product
designs from reputable manufacturers.  They were convicted in a German
court of doing that to one mfr, and have settled out of court with at
least two others.  They even copied the mistakes on a Mackie circuit
board, and at one point, Mackie couldn't buy the OEM parts to build
their own mixers because Behringer had bought them out from the OEM
vendor to mfr the copied products.

I use the KFL3A-6K with "TX ESSB = On" from time to time.  I have
never experienced anything like what you describe on SSB.

Admittedly, when I have tried it, I usually have the TX ESSB set to
3.2k since I don't have the new DSP board with extended low
frequency TX, but this should not make a difference.

However, what you describe as "receive audio shift" sounds
suspiciously similar to what we have been noticing with sending
chained messages on FSK D mode (see threads on this topic).
Wayne has just reported, this afternoon, that he has found a fix
and that it has to do with the wrong RX filter being switched in
after transmitting a chained memory using FSK D mode.  Could
you be experiencing something related?  I don't know.  Seems
unlikely, but . . .  let's see.

I will be testing out the new potential fix shortly.
