Good afternoon, Folks.
A couple of weeks ago, one member of The Reflector posted an account of where he took his Elecraft rig [Model now escapes me] to the park at lunch time and had fun with his Random Wire Antenna thrown up in a tree. I've tried searching the the archives but with no success. If someone could/would help me located this posting, I would appreciate it. I'm interested in working 40M primarily using a Random Wire. This is just for fun/experimental purposes as I have several PAR Electronic End Fed Dipoles I normally use with great success. Response direct or on-line would be appreciated. Thanks and Best 73. This is from July 10th. 73, Dave - W8OV Okay, I am pumped and just had to share. I finally finished up my Elecraft KX-1 and internal tuner. I headed to the park today at lunch and threw my 28 ft. wire up in the tree with a 16 ft. counterpoise. I ran off the internal battery pack. I not been on the air for probably 12 years.... I called CQ both times! Keith - KB8FE & Darval - W7KNA - two much better ops than I. Thanks guys! CW is VERY rusty - but I managed!
