I have one of the original 73.CNC machined main tuning knobs for the K3 in
black. It's in perfect shape. I will ship it in the US for $95. 73, Charlie k3ICH -----Original Message----- From: [hidden email] <[hidden email]> On Behalf Of Michael Raskin Sent: Saturday, August 10, 2019 10:13 AM To: [hidden email] Subject: [Elecraft] K3 knobs are sold ______________________________________________________________ Elecraft mailing list Home: http://mailman.qth.net/mailman/listinfo/elecraft Help: http://mailman.qth.net/mmfaq.htm Post: mailto:[hidden email] This list hosted by: http://www.qsl.net Please help support this email list: http://www.qsl.net/donate.html Message delivered to [hidden email] ______________________________________________________________ Elecraft mailing list Home: http://mailman.qth.net/mailman/listinfo/elecraft Help: http://mailman.qth.net/mmfaq.htm Post: mailto:[hidden email] This list hosted by: http://www.qsl.net Please help support this email list: http://www.qsl.net/donate.html Message delivered to [hidden email] |
Just curious ... do the heavier knobs tend to abuse the encoder bearing?

Skip,
They can create a bend in the shaft if the K3 is dropped to the desktop, such as when the bail is retracted. I would advise anyone NOT to ship the K3 with those knobs mounted. My experience is with the K2. There were several that were shipped to me for repair with the knob installed - many of those had bent encoder shafts. I was usually able to straighten the shaft, but that is a chore in trial and error. 73, Don W3FPR On 8/12/2019 1:45 PM, Fred Jensen wrote: > Just curious ... do the heavier knobs tend to abuse the encoder bearing? > ______________________________________________________________ Elecraft mailing list Home: http://mailman.qth.net/mailman/listinfo/elecraft Help: http://mailman.qth.net/mmfaq.htm Post: mailto:[hidden email] This list hosted by: http://www.qsl.net Please help support this email list: http://www.qsl.net/donate.html Message delivered to [hidden email] |
