I was able to work-em, when propagation peaked my way.
I've found that I can press the K2's "B" button down just enough to shift to the xmit freq temporarily. And that way I can pop back and forth between "A" and "B" so I can follow along with the stations getting in. Pile-ups are stange animals. Patience seems to be one of the major factors for me as I'm not a big gun. :) Duane N1BBR -- [hidden email] ______________________________________________________________ Elecraft mailing list Home: http://mailman.qth.net/mailman/listinfo/elecraft Help: http://mailman.qth.net/mmfaq.htm Post: mailto:[hidden email] This list hosted by: http://www.qsl.net Please help support this email list: http://www.qsl.net/donate.html |

For whatever reason, they haven't been very loud here in Missouri. Charles,
S9SS, is usually quite loud, and when Martti was there as S9BB he had big signals here. Maybe their vertical antenna setup isn't optimal for their location. However, if you can hear them it's not hard to work them now that the pileups are thinned out, even with low power and a modest antenna. ymmv, Tony KT0NY ______________________________________________________________ Elecraft mailing list Home: http://mailman.qth.net/mailman/listinfo/elecraft Help: http://mailman.qth.net/mmfaq.htm Post: mailto:[hidden email] This list hosted by: http://www.qsl.net Please help support this email list: http://www.qsl.net/donate.html |

Hi,
They haven't been very good here either until this afternoon. Worked them easily on 20 a few minutes ago. Their equipment list mentions Tokyo High Power HL-550FX amp(s) which is in the 500-600W class. Apparently they have verticals only except on 10m, but if they are right on the beach that should be perfectly OK. They are a good 57 in CNY with very little QSB. AB2TC - Knut

I worked them at 1818Z today on 20. It's the first time I've heard them.
The Daily DX reported several days ago that they are having trouble with their power source from the local hospital with frequent drop outs and have not been able to run the amps all the time. Keep trying. They seem to be good operators and will work to complete a contact. Hi,
Wow, when it rains it pours. Just worked them on 21255 up 5. Not strong but easily workable. Agree, very good ops and good punchy audio. AB2TC - Knut

Hi,
Good for you! I felt bad because he faded out here about half an hour later. Now he is on 14210 simplex. Good S7 here on my wire antenna. AB2TC - Knut

Hi again,
He is weakening here but he's getting fantastic reports from the west coast. We are in full darkness here in CNY now. This is fun. Still simplex on 14210. AB2TC - Knut
