I am wondering if anyone has used the k3 in any rtty contests and what
their menu settings are for the radio, thoughts comments, expectations etc as opposed to all the greatness I hear on the y 5k reflector. I know the K3 is a great radio but I don't seem to read too many operator comments on its greatness...... thanks all. Yep. Ran in the RTTY RoundUp this last weekend. My setup is "maximally
minimalist" ... two RS stereo cables between LINE IN/OUT on the K3 and LINE OUT/IN on the laptop running N1MM+MMTTY. I have the K3 in AFSK, PITCH=915Hz [I can't hear anything above about 1200 anyway]. Set 915Hz in MMTTY. If your computer has only a MIC input, you'll probably need an attenuator feeding it, you can make one from a couple of resistors, or you can get one from Radio Shack. This same thing works with the K2, you do need the SSB adapter and the attenuator into the MIC jack. I used that for several years before getting the K3. 73, Fred K6DGW - Northern California Contest Club - CU in the 2013 Cal QSO Party 5-6 Oct 2013 - www.cqp.org On 1/9/2013 8:32 AM, KR9A wrote: > I am wondering if anyone has used the k3 in any rtty contests and what > their menu settings are for the radio, thoughts comments, expectations > etc as opposed to all the greatness I hear on the y 5k reflector. > I know the K3 is a great radio but I don't seem to read too many > operator comments on its greatness...... > thanks all. ______________________________________________________________ Elecraft mailing list Home: http://mailman.qth.net/mailman/listinfo/elecraft Help: http://mailman.qth.net/mmfaq.htm Post: mailto:[hidden email] This list hosted by: http://www.qsl.net Please help support this email list: http://www.qsl.net/donate.html |
