Well, I once hit the Attenuate button accidentally and didn¹t notice it
for quite some time . . . band seemed sort of quiet.

Thanks to Bill NR4C for this idea.  I tried it and the result was to hear
the commercial radio station loudly, but still no amateur radio.

Yup, the antenna is attached and its SWR is OK.
