Sounds familar Mike --  I just finsihed my K2 last week.  When I tried
installing the nut -- it did not fit.
If you read the instructions somewhere it says -- remove the nuts supplied
with the antenna and key/speaker jacks -- well in my case they were removed
and supplied separately.  I decided to leave them all off for time being as
I am now building SSB, K60 and DSP options and will have to dissassemble the
RF board to install these. Will eventually go to my junkbox to find a proper
nut.
