Preparation "H" sells medicated wipes...These wipes come in a neat little
hard white plastic box with a "snap-shut" hinged lid...The KX1 fits into
it perfectly, with a little room to spare for foam packing...I know, it's
anal...

Thanks for the tip. I am carrrying my KX1 in a "butt pack" so it is
appropriate....anyway, I will try to use just the lid with foam in it.  
I found Walgreen's brand for cheaper (same size) and the same box in
purple in the toddler section for $1.98.

I just found out about http://eMachineShop.com.  They provide free CAD
software and will mill, laser cut, punch, and turn aluminum, steel,
plastic, etc.  Looks like a good place to get 100 antenna couplers or
milled and drilled for a buck or teo each.
