Jeff,
Sounds like a good way to start, I'm starting with an
Idiom Press CMOS 4 Keyer, then I'll tackle some
Elecraft kit.

You'll notice I didn't say on the air.  That's because
my first kit was
the lowly DL1 Dummy Load.  I plan to eventually build
a K2, but that
didn't seem like a good place to start.  Next on the
block are a Norcal
40A and a T1.  I can't wait to make the first contact
using equipment I
built.  Gotta sharpen up my CW first though :)

For those that worry about the increasing age of the
ham population,
I'm
22 years old.  I'm just getting in to kit building now
that I have a
real job and real disposable income.

Great keyer.  One of my alltime favorites.  They also make a nice audio
filter, SCAF-1,  I am building one right now.
