Re: Heil goldline with K2 all 8 pin mics wired just about te same

I found my Kenwood MC-60 mic is wired perfectly pin to pin if you leave out
the base holder with the pre-amp in it.

The on/off switch on the mic it self works for PTT with lock. I seem  to
have plenty of millivolts to drive the k2 into ALC COMPRSSION.

I also randomly used a mic from my harris RF-3200. The mic worked  too.

There seems to be almost a wiring standard on 8 pin  mics?
I tried yet another  8 pin mic from a ts-850 and TS-50.

LETS ME LOOK INTO THIS MORE WITH MORE RIGS THAT HAVE THE 8 PIN ON THE  K2.

So far I have plugged 6 different mics(using an 8 pin to 8 pin  cable) into
my K2.
They all worked with PTT and VOX. Of course some sound great. Others...not
terrible audio.

Only if you are sticking to microphones used with Kenwood radios. The Yaesu
configuration which I use is totally different and non compatible even though
it  uses the same microphone connector. The Mic Config patch P1 on the K2
front  panel allows one to select the particular standard in use at your own
station.  All a matter of personal choice and what you have in available
microphones.
