Last Saturday I played host to a friend of mine who just so happens to
be a FOC member (I'm FC, just haven't got the membership yet ;-)). His
reaction upon confronting the Flex was predictable, "No knobs!",
"Useless! I can't use a radio without knobs!" etc. However, within 5
minutes of sitting him down and explaining the UI to him he was hooked!
He was pointing and shooting dx, scrolling with the mouse, qsy'ing with
the keyboard, ragchewing in cw etc. His most memorable quote was, "Wow
thats cool, I can read cw from the panadapter!" :-)

I have no doubt the K3 will be a great radio (it's on my wish list) and
I also have no doubt that it is but a question of time before a SDR wins
a major contest. If I was competing against K1LT I'd be taking note of
what he's doing and asking what he's hoping to achieve.

The performance of my 5000 is simply stunning, it is in a different
league to anything I have ever used previously and yes that includes
K2's and fully tricked out MK 5's.
