Bob,
Review the soldering on the KSB2 board to see if you produced any solder
splashes, and look carefully at areas outside the filter too. The fact is
that if the filter works on receive, it should work on transmit too. You
should not have to upgrade the KSB2 firmware to have it work.
You should also think about the possibility that you had an 'ESD attack'
while you had the KSB2 removed from the K2. That could zap solid state
components easily, particularly the firmware chip.
