It sounds like a simple idea, but I would suggest you use a very
straightforward low-level terminal program (e.g. PUTTY) to see if it can
talk to the K2. This may help to isolate which end of the RS-232 the
problem is located. I had a similar problem with my K2, and it emerged
that there was no problem with the rig or RS-232 at all. The problem lay
in the set-up of the CAT program. The K2 manual tells you the format of
the basic commands...
