Re: K3 # 685 arrived

Hi Chris,

Sorry to hear about the customs issues, and sorry I can't help you with your query regards nuts, but I'm curious as to which shipping method you used, and if you had to pay GST (tell me to mind my own business if you don't want to say)??

My K3 came via post (can't remember what it is listed as on the Elecraft site, but it is the cheapest method) and got straight through, and attracted no extra costs (GST etc etc). Shipping time was less than 1 week, Aptos CA to Rural VK2. I have had issues before when importing stuff that was couriered (FedEx etc), but never through the post.

I had to pay GST on the first K2 I ever bought (over the counter at the post office). But since then I have never had to pay anything?? When I asked the local postmaster about this, he said that Auspost could no longer be bothered to collect this!!!

Cust curious !! Enjoy the K3.

>>>Hello,
K3/10 #685 basic kit arrived 28 April.
Arrived in VK on 9 April, spent over 2 weeks in Australian customs.
Inventory done, all there but no "4-40" nuts.
I'm used to metric sizes, can anyone tell me what "4-40" refers to,
so I can see if they are available locally, I don't want to wait another week!
Cheers,   Chris VK2LCD<<<
