I like the idea of a speaker that reasonably matches the K3.  This one looks
nice; however, I'd like to see two speakers in one enclosure so I can use
the sub-receiver without having to have two separate speaker units on the
desktop.

You can do that with one speaker - just set CONFIG:SPKRS=1
