I hope so, Robert !  I was wondering when this might
be added.  I hang with a crowd on 75m and when busy in
the shack, being able to squelch static and noise when
no signals are present, is a great way to monitor for
activity. I was able to do this with my TS-940 and have
been hoping it would find its way into the K3 feature set!

Hi Joe

What would be nice feature on the K3  is a proper syllabic squelch. Most commercial HF radios use a syllabic  squelch which only activates on voice signals. A syllabic squelch ignores most QRM and QRN, even S1 and S2 signals can be detected with a syllabic squelch.

What about CW ops who'd wanna use the squelch?

The NR can be used for this sort of thing until a level-based or
content-based squelch is available.  This is not a commitment for such
squelch functions!

Understood.  Was just stating that sometimes more complicated and going
for specialized things often leaves people in the dark.
