Re: K3 Audio Level and Heil Pro Set

Mike K2MK
Hi again Pete:

I forgot to mention something in my previous posting. Lyle gave me a command
to send via the K3 Utility to temporarily increase the headphone volume. The
premise being that if this proved satisfactory then it would be possible to
include such a volume adjustment in firmware (if enough people want it).
Open the K3 Utility and choose Command Tester. Enter the following code on
the top line and hit enter

!66;

Be sure to include all 4 characters. You can do this several times and the
volume will increase slightly each time. Unfortunately, it is not remembered
if you cycle power.

I've been enjoying my K3 but find the audio output in my Heil Pro Set is
rather weak.  Is there a mismatch here or some setting that will boost the
audio level?

Just for the record, I hae the latest production release firmware, speaker +
phones is no.

Thanks,
Pete, W1RM

I would like to see this added to the Config Menu. I have low volume on
headphones, and a few doses of this command fixes it. I was going to contact
Elecraft support about it, but now I will wait for it to be added.

Re: K3 Audio Level and Heil Pro Set

PD2R
Last IOTA contest I had connected my Pro Set Plus to the rear panel like I
always do. For some reason to volume was much lower than usual. Normally I
have the volume knob set al 10 o'clock. Now I had to set it at 1 o'clock to
get the same audio level.
I could not find out what had happened and since we were in a contest and
everything was working fine otherwise, I didn't bother to investigate any
further.
I will check all the settings and if the problem still remains I will
contact Wayne as well.

I'll add my voice to that as well.  Please add that capability to increase
the volume on the earphones.
