Sure. But you really need more information about the questioner's intended usage before bashing the idea of MIC+LIN. My K3 is always set up for Mic+Lin. Sometimes I use the output from a 528e with another mic. Sometimes I use my CM500 connected to mic in. Either the 528e is OFF when the CM500 is plugged into the front panel, or the CM500 is unplugged. I can change between the two without fiddling with menus. The sky has not fallen .. :-)
I certainly agree with Joe on this point. I hear many voice /
background noise signals in the "CW" portions of the bands. Furthermore,
fact is, it isn't legal to transmit such.
suppose if one wishes to run Slow Scan TV with audio in the SSB
portion of the band it might be justified. Otherwise, I still say it is
a terrible idea.
