You can run split if you use a program like fldigi. I worked WIAW/0 this afternoon this way. I believe any program with a waterfall can run split--that is not the same as direct readout on the screen, but it is better than nothing. 73, Scott. AA0AA PSK31 SPLIT: Folks, It seems the solution is there is no solution. PSK31 SPLIT appears unsupported in the K3 and the KX3. The argument seems to be PSK31 is never used in SPLIT operation. But W1AW/* uses Split for pileups. And many DXpeditions have used it (T32C for instance). While I rarely use any digital mode other than CW, I thought it was nifty to have RTTY and PSK31 as part of the K3. Turns out it is near nifty. :) Ah, but maybe SPLIT for PSK31 is on on the list of things to come later? or have I missed something? ?Bob W1XT, Sun City West, Arizona Sent from Scott's iPad ______________________________________________________________ Elecraft mailing list Home: http://mailman.qth.net/mailman/listinfo/elecraft Help: http://mailman.qth.net/mmfaq.htm Post: mailto:[hidden email] This list hosted by: http://www.qsl.net Please help support this email list: http://www.qsl.net/donate.html Message delivered to [hidden email] |

Most, if not all radios I have seen, going split is NOT mode dependent.
This should be corrected ASAP. 73, Dick, W1KSZ On 5/13/2014 7:40 PM, Scott via Elecraft wrote: > You can run split if you use a program like fldigi. I worked WIAW/0 this afternoon this way. There's nothing to correct, split works fine on Data A.
Worked W1AW/0 on PSK63, split on the first call the other day. My first PSK63 QSO... I liked it, very snappy compared to the watching paint dry PSK31. You do need to insure that the "B" vfo is on the same mode as the "A". Double tap A->B to insure this. split works fine for DATA A, AFSK A, and FSK D
but it does *NOT* for PSK D the question is... why was this one digital mode not allowed to operate split? -- GB & 73 K5OAI Sam Morgan On 5/14/2014 11:15 AM, Wes (N7WS) wrote: > There's nothing to correct, split works fine on Data A. > > Worked W1AW/0 on PSK63, split on the first call the other day. I stand corrected. You are correct. Why, I don't know.
Personally, I would never try to operate these "internal" digi modes. I can't send decent CW with the built-in keyer, I shudder to think what my digital signals would be :-) Wes N7WS On 5/14/2014 9:34 AM, Sam Morgan wrote: > split works fine for DATA A, AFSK A, and FSK D > > but it does *NOT* for PSK D > > the question is... > why was this one digital mode not allowed to operate split? > ______________________________________________________________ Elecraft mailing list Home: http://mailman.qth.net/mailman/listinfo/elecraft Help: http://mailman.qth.net/mmfaq.htm Post: mailto:[hidden email] This list hosted by: http://www.qsl.net Please help support this email list: http://www.qsl.net/donate.html Message delivered to [hidden email] |

This one digital mode is used *only* for PSK from paddles. If one needs to do split PSK31 use DATA A with the computer and either split audio tones from the computer PSK31 program (DM-780, MixW, WinWarbler, DigiPan, etc.) or split VFOs like any other mode. With PSK D one can not monitor the transmit frequency to make sure it is clear if split. 73, ...
