The rear sockets are slightly weak in terms of mechanical strength and I need to replace them. As a result, using front port could be a good alternative in long term.
Just a personal preference.

I do not understand the need or desire to use the front port.
I use CM-500 but plug into the rear ports. One of the features of the really like about the K3 is the clean look with nothing plugged into the front.
I converted an old hand mike into a K3 pinout so i could use it if i ever wanted to use a hand mike. so far other than when i tested it the connector has been vacant.
