Ahaaaa-- I thought since I had the MMTTY demodulator set to 915 -170 and K3s set to 915-170 I was matched ---
NOPE - in AFSK - in MMTTY setup I ALSO have to set "HAM DEFAULT" to 915-170 . Never mattered when I was running direct FSK. This morning after reading Mike VP8NO message I noticed that if I clicked on TX in the MMTTY window I got same deal - no ALC -nil in MON -made no difference with the AFSK FIL on or off - BUT if I left the TX on and clicked on ALIGN next to it lo and behold up popped the 7 bars - output power etc and diddles away. so just have to see if I can play games between WSJT and RTTY to get one LIN setting to work -but not a big issue. I had never tried to use AFSK on RTTY and had always used direct FSK but with the K3S I decided to get rid of my RTTY interface box . BUT lo and behold when using AFSK the MMTTY "HAM DEFAULT" has to be set to 915-170 -does not matter in direct FSK so I just never thought about that . But setting it to 915-170 away I went Thanks Mike Hank K7HP Message: 23 Date: Sat, 21 Dec 2019 03:35:34 -0500 (EST) From: HP <[hidden email]> To: [hidden email] Subject: [Elecraft] K3S - DATA A vs AFSK A Message-ID: <[hidden email]> Content-Type: text/plain; charset=utf-8 K3S using internal USB codec and W7 . I have an issue I dont understand --- N1MM /MMTTY -- RTTY --- using VOX for PTT. If I leave LIN OUT levels (about 35) and Windows levels (49 percent) then WSJT -sets up with 4 bars ALC 5th flickering - makes no difference if I run WSJT alone or run it thru N1MM running WSJT no change in settings . Then try to use AFSK A for RTTY I get no ALC bars at all - I see the RTTY diddles on the MMTTY screen - nothing I do will get any bars if I do nothng but switch to DATA A change nothing else - I get solid 7 bars and have to reduce MIC gain (LIN) to 10-11 from 35-37 to get 4 bars 5th flashing . I have the RTTY freq set 915-170 -MMTTY decodes fine in RX. What am I missing ?? Hank, There are two .INI files in MMTTY that. if not modified, will switch you back to high tones as you change the decoding algorithms. If you use low tones, as I do, you will need to go in and modify them. Search the MMTTY directory for .INI files, then go through both of them for default tone frequencies and edit them. The second .INI file has 8-9 instances that must be changed, one for each of the decode algorithms. 73, Jim K9YC ______________________________________________________________ Elecraft mailing list Home: http://mailman.qth.net/mailman/listinfo/elecraft Help: http://mailman.qth.net/mmfaq.htm Post: mailto:[hidden email] This list hosted by: http://www.qsl.net Please help support this email list: http://www.qsl.net/donate.html Message delivered to [hidden email] |
