Loking for practical info on wiring-up of the KAT500 PA to the any
third-party, non Elecraft PA, incl Home- Made?Is the PTT cable necessary
from KAT 500 to the PA?
Fixing the FAULT alarm while it is on?

Linas,

Yes the PTT cable is necessary.  During tuning the power is reduced, and
the way that is accomplished is for the KAT100 to open the PTT line to
the amp.
If you have an amp that only takes a small amount of power to drive it,
your exciter may not have enough power to do a proper TUNE - that takes
20 watts for reliable results.
